A potent luteolytic agent for use in cattle, horses, sheep, pigs and goats. Cloprostenol is strucurally related to Prostaglandin F₂ alpha. Both will cause functional and morphological regression of the corpus luteum (luteolysis), Luteolysis is then usually followed by return to oestrus (heat) within 2-4 days after treatment.

Normal ovulation will usually occur at this oestrus period. 

JURAMATE is specific in its luteolytic effect and is therefore ineffective where a functional corus luteum is not present. A refractory period is usually present for approximately 5 days following normal oestrus when animals will be insensitive to JURAMATE.

Cattle   -  2 ml intermuscularly

Horses -  up to 400 kg bodyweight 1.5 – 1 ml.

JURAMATE can be used in pigs, sheep and goats where registration of the product permits this use
