Uses |
|
Noromectin Paste for Horses at the recommended dose rate of 200 µg ivermectin
per kg bodyweight provides is indicated for the treatment and control of the
following parasites of horses:
-
- Large
strongyles: adults and arterial larval stages of Strongylus vulgaris,
adults and tissue larval stages of Sedentatus, adults of Sequinus
and Triodontophorus spp.

- Adult
and lumenal immature small strongyles including benzimidazole resistant
strains: Cyathostomum Spp., Cylicocyclus spp.,
Cylicostephanus spp., Cyclicodontophorus spp., Gyalocephalus
spp.,

- Adult
and immature lungworms, dictyocaulus arnfieldi
-
- Adult
and immature oxyuris equi
-
- Adult
and immature Parascaris equorum
-
- Adult
Trichostrongylus axei, Habronema muscae and
Storngyloides westeri

- Microfilariae
of Onchoceraca spp
-
- Oral
and gastric stages of bots, Gastrophilus spp.

Dosage and
Administration |
|
Noromectin Paste for Horses is administered orally at a dose rate of 200 µg/kg
of bodyweight. One syringe division of paste should be administered per 100kg
bodyweight (based on the recommended dosage of 200 µg/kg). Each syringe delivers
120mg ivermectin, sufficient to treat 600 kg of bodyweight. |

Contraindication, Warnings, etc |
|

Some
horses carrying heavy infection of Onchocerca microfilariae have experienced
oedema and pruritus following dosing, assumed to be the result of death of
large numbers of microfilariae. These signs resolve within a few days but
symptomatic treatment may be advisable.

§ Noromectin
Paste for Horses has been formulated for use in horses only. It should not be
used in other species as severe adverse reactions, including fatalities in
dogs, may occur.

not smoke or eat while handling the product.

hands after use.

Withdrawal
periods |
|
Animals must not be slaughtered for human consumption during treatment. Horses
must not be treated within 21 days of slaughter for human consumption. |

Disposal |
|
EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TO FISH AND AQUATIC LIFE. Do not contaminate surface water
of ditches with product or used containers. Any unused product or waste
materials should be disposed off in accordance with national requirements. |
